Christmas Morning

Ivy Kate had a great Christmas. She figured out opening presents...must get that from me! I don't have many pictures because I always forget to charge up my camera. So these pictures from Christmas morning are all I have.
Ivy Kate's first tricycle. It has blinkers and plays music. Her legs are too short to pedal yet, but she loves all the buttons!
Ivy Kate's rain boots!
Ivy Kate's kitchen/cottage! She loves it!

Dorothy and Toto

I did not get any great pictures from Halloween because Dorothy would not be still and "cheese" long enough! We've always dressed Wilson up as well...poor dog, but this year he just went as Toto, so no outfit required. We know he was excited.

Trying to get Ivy Kate and Wilson in the same picture frame proved to be a challenge. This was the best we got!

Pumpkin Craving with a One Year Old

Pumpkin craving was interesting this year. Ivy Kate was not to sure about the inside of the pumpkin, but finally after some coaxing, she felt the slimy part. She thought it was neat to look inside the pumpkin once it was all cleaned out. Daddy did a great job craving the pumpkin this year with all the distraction! :)

17 Months Old

Our little girl is growing up too fast. She turned 17 months yesterday.
17 of her favorite things:
1. Wilson
2. Wilson's dog bowl (which she just dumped the water bowl on the floor...everyday occurrence)
3. Bath time
4. Chicken nuggets
5. Being outside
6. Climbing on the furniture
7. Carrying her purse, cell phone and keys around
8. Saying and waving bye bye to cars going down the street
9. Dancing on the coffee table and bench (she taps her feet)
10. Sitting in her chair and reading her books
11. Her Daddy
12. Shoes (don't know where she got this from)
13. Yogurt for breakfast
14. Sleeping (she usually sleeps from 7 till about 8:30...maybe this is one of my favorite things)
15. Pointing at pictures and telling you who they are
16. Talking in another language
17. Goldfish

Pumpkin Patch

We took Ivy Kate to the pumpkin patch and hay maze today. It was fun...just a little hot! The hay maze was a challenge with a one year old. John finally just put her on his shoulders so we could get out of there! Little Miss Sunshine on her way to the hayride!
Daddy trying to figure out an escape from the hay maze while Ivy Kate hugged and kissed his head!
Ivy Kate trying to find the perfect pumpkin!
She loved every pumpkin she saw!

Blue Jeans and Football

Last Friday night, we took Ivy Kate to a football game. She had fun, but we left after halftime because she was trying to climb the bleachers! She got to wear her new blue jeans for the first time. She looks like a big girl in blue jeans and tennis shoes!

New Chair

Ivy Kate's new chair came in yesterday and she loves it! I was hoping by getting it she would stop climbing on the furniture, but I doubt that will happen!
And I promise we do not wear this dress everyday!

A Girl and Her Purse

Ivy Kate is obsessed with her purse. She takes it everywhere. If you ask her if she is ready to go bye-bye, she heads to the door with her purse in tow! She is such a priss! Her smile in this picture makes me laugh!

Mother's Morning Out

So after my extremely long post back in February, we decided that I would stay home with Ivy Kate. I know we are crazy for spending the night outside for a spot in daycare and then giving it up
Anyways, she started going to Mother's Morning Out today. We've had this backpack since she was a few months old, but haven't really used it. She thought it was great and was carrying it around the house.
Well, gotta go get some things done while she is gone! I miss her, but I know she is having a blast!

Go Dawgs!

So the first game didn't go so good, but we still have faith! This is Ivy Kate's cheerleader uniform for this year. She wouldn't cooperate for pics, so this is the best I got! We will try to get a better one this weekend!
Go Dawgs!

15 Months Old and Pig Tails

Our little ham turned 15 months old last Thursday. We went to the doctor for our 15 month check-up on the actual day.
Grammie (John's mom) is great at getting Ivy Kate's hair in pig tails. I still need a few lessons!

The Fair

We ventured out to the Neshoba County Fair last week. John stayed with us three nights and Ivy Kate and I stayed for five more...yes, that makes a total of EIGHT nights at the Fair with a one year old! I am crazy, I know! It actually went surprisingly well. We had a lot of fun visiting family and friends and eating lots of food. Here are a few pics from the week:

Wild Girl, Wild Hair

Showing off her 10 teeth!
Thinking of what she can do next to make Mama go crazy...example figuring out to get in china cabinet and breaking a cup!
She loves sitting on the step. She brings her books and toys and just sits there!
She finally let me pull back her hair and is taking a break from running wild!

Ivy Kate's hair grew out of the mohawk stage awhile ago, but it is still CRAZY! She will let you pull it back with a bow, ponytail or barrette, but pulls it out almost immediately. She pushes it out of her eyes. We just don't know what to do with it!

Ivy Kate and Baby Stella

Ivy Kate got Baby Stella for her birthday and has loved her ever since.
My mom got her a stroller the other day and Ivy Kate pushed Stella around. When John got home from work, he taught Ivy Kate that she could fit in it as well. Now I can't keep her from trying to climb in it! Just put the stroller up the closet!

Strawberry Pajamas

This morning I was trying to get Ivy Kate to be still so I could get a picture of her pajamas, but she wouldn't be still.
She is so busy these days...climbing on furniture, terrorizing Wilson, trying to play in the toilet (that sends me over the edge) and trying to eat as many raisins and bananas as possible!

Let's Go Swimming!

Ivy Kate has been swimming in her dinky blow up pool in the backyard. She has more fun getting in and out! By the time we come inside, the water is usually black from dirt!

The Zoo

Trying to get Daddy to keep up with me!
Cooling off in the Polar Bear exhibit!
Picture with Mama!
Ivy Kate's relatives...the monkeys!

On Saturday, we went to the Memphis Zoo. It was really hot, but we went for a couple of hours in the morning and had a lot of fun. Ivy Kate's favorite part was getting out of the stroller and running from Daddy.
She liked the monkeys...must be because they are so much alike! :)

So we had a limb fall...

Last night at around 1:50 a.m. to be exact, we were awoken by a horrifying sound. John and Wilson jumped from the bed and moved from room to room looking for what made the sound. John came back to report that it had to be some of Ivy Kate's toys in her closet that fell. I wasn't buying that, so I began glancing out all the windows to see what I could see. As I looked out the living room window, all I could see was leaves and that is not usually the case. As we opened the door, we realized that a pretty good chunk of our tree in the front yard had fallen. Just glad that it didn't fall yesterday afternoon when all of us were outside!

Happy 3 Years!

Tomorrow we will have been married for three years! These last year three years seem to have flown by (at least to me, maybe not to John!) We have been through a hurricane, moving too many times to count, building a house, having a baby, etc. It has been a lot of fun and I am very thankful that John has put up with me through it all!
Happy Anniversary, John! I love you!

Ivy Kate's First Car

Ivy Kate got to drive her first car this weekend. John and I finally got her birthday present from us...we are just a little late, but she does not know the difference. :) She likes it, but instead of riding in it, she pushes it around!
